David Poulos
Mr. Poulos’ concentration of law over the last 30 years is in the defense of Workers’ Compensation claims, Labor and Employment cases and Civil Defense. He has practiced throughout Illinois, tried cases before the Illinois Worker’s Compensation Commission, argued before the Circuit Court, and has successfully argued before the Illinois Appellate Court on behalf of business clients in Illinois.
He attended Southern Methodist University and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1989 from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1992.
Mr. Poulos began his practice in Insurance Defense after graduating from Kent in 1992. In 1995, he began practicing worker’s compensation defense. In 2000, he began an insurance defense law firm and was an equity principal and CEO for ten years. In 2000, he also began defending cases involving Employment & Labor Law disputes, and Third-Party defense of employers, and lien recovery. In January of 2011, he and Ms. Di Benedetto founded Poulos & Di Benedetto Law, P.C.
Mr. Poulos has been awarded the highest possible review ranking of 5.0/5.0 AV from Martindale LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating for Ethical Standards and Legal Ability for 17 straight years: 2004-2021. He regularly presents educational seminars for clients to assist in their knowledge of investigating and defending workers’ compensation cases. He has also presented at the National Conferences on Worker’s Compensation, speaking about the interplay of Worker’s Compensation, ADA and FMLA.
